With a beautiful bay side setting, excellent facilities, and endless sunny bright days, it comes as no surprise that Melbourne is considered by many as one of the most liveable cities in the world. Along with that come plenty of things to do and also see outdoors to suit your lifestyle and interests.
Family Fun Activities
There is plenty to do in Melbourne for the whole family. These range from wildlife parks, zoos, interactive museums and kids’ festivals. I simply pick a map, pack a picnic and camera and head out for there is much to see and do.
I love relaxing on calm bay beaches that are scattered across Melbourne ranging from the hugely popular swimming spots located at St Kilda to the bathing huts found at Brighton. When I feel like being mobile on two wheels, I take to mountain biking in the nearby High Country or simply just cruise around the numerous bike trails in Melbourne.
Nature and Wildlife
In the middle of Melbourne, I can amazingly surround myself with timeless age-old trees, abundant wildlife and memorable manicured lawns.Melbourne Zoo is ranked among the best in the world and is an exciting place worth visiting! This is also the oldest zoo in Australia. It’s easy and enjoyable spending hours there.
On a bright sunny Melbourne day, I prefer simply strolling around the famous Royal Botanic Gardens. Did you know you can even have a Garden Wedding there? Weddings of Distinction, two time ABIA award winners helped my husband and I set up a garden wedding hire in the botantic gardens. For the more adventurous like me, try water skiing on the expansive lake systems across Victoria or strap on a safety helmet and go with me climbing one of the famous Grampians rock faces nearby.
Enjoy Watching Sports
Melbourne is certainly a sports mad City. From the mighty roar of powerful race cars to the crack of the cricket bats, I always have something to hold my interest. The city hosts world class field and track events throughout the year where I get dazzled by top ranking sportsmen and women.
Indeed, you will be spoilt for choice when outdoors in Melbourne. For example, beside the above activities, I can decide to take a day out and take the invigorating rides available at Melbourne’s Luna Park, visit the Sate Rose Garden, the Docklands or be mesmerized by the Padlock Bridge. The bottom line is, Melbourne has something for me every day.
